Governance Processes and Challenges for Reservation of Antimicrobials Exclusively for Human Use and Restriction of Antimicrobial Use in Animals.J. Scott Weese, Guilherme Antonio Da Costa Junior, Bruno Gonzalez-Zorn, Laura Y. Hardefeldt, Jorge Matheu, Gerard Moulin, Stephen W. Page, Ruby Singh, Junxia Song & Olafur Valsson - 2022 - Journal of Law, Medicine and Ethics 50 (S2):55-63.
The majority of antimicrobials that are produced are administered to animals, particularly food animals. While the overall impact of antimicrobial use in animals on antimicrobial resistance in humans and the environment is unclear, it undeniably has a role. Yet, some degree of antimicrobial use in animals is necessary for animal health and welfare purposes. Balancing the benefits and risks of antimicrobial use in animals is challenging because of the complexity of the problem and limitations in available data. However, a range (...)

Victim and Culprit? The Effects of Entitlement and Felt Accountability on Perceptions of Abusive Supervision and Perpetration of Workplace Bullying.Jeremy D. Mackey, Jeremy R. Brees, Charn P. McAllister, Michelle L. Zorn, Mark J. Martinko & Paul Harvey - 2018 - Journal of Business Ethics 153 (3):659-673.
Although workplace bullying is common and has universally harmful effects on employees’ outcomes, little is known about workplace bullies. To address this gap in knowledge, we draw from the tenets of social exchange and displaced aggression theories in order to develop and test a model of workplace bullying that incorporates the effects of employees’ individual differences, perceptions of their work environments, and perceptions of supervisory treatment on their tendencies to bully coworkers. The results of mediated moderation analyses that examine responses (...)

  3. Zorn's Lemma and Complete Boolean Algebras in Intuitionistic Type Theories.J. L. Bell - 1997 - Journal of Symbolic Logic 62 (4):1265-1279.
We analyze Zorn's Lemma and some of its consequences for Boolean algebras in a constructive setting. We show that Zorn's Lemma is persistent in the sense that, if it holds in the underlying set theory, in a properly stated form it continues to hold in all intuitionistic type theories of a certain natural kind. We also establish the persistence of some familiar results in the theory of Boolean algebras--notably, the proposition that every complete Boolean algebra is an absolute (...)

(Observe that the axiom of choice cannot be persistent in this sense since it implies the law of excluded middle.) We also establish the persistence (...)

    The Theory of Sets and Transfinite Arithmetic. [REVIEW]J. M. P. - 1966 - Review of Metaphysics 19 (3):578-579.
This is a text for a one or two semester course on axiomatic set theory; the goal is to introduce and develop one system of set theory in a complete and thorough way, presupposing only the elusive "mathematical maturity" of the reader. There are nine chapters which begin with a development of propositional and predicate logic oriented toward set theory and develop the Zermelo-Fraenkel system in exceptional detail. The book starts slowly, the first 120 pages being devoted to logical preliminaries (...)
